1/2/2008: The Arkansas History Commission has added a new Arkansas Confederate Pension Records index to its website. The collection is composed of approximately 22,000 records collected by the State Board of Pensions between 1891 and 1939.

10/23/2007: State and local government agencies throughout Arkansas will be better prepared for emergencies thanks to $2.6 million recently awarded to the national Council of State Archivists (CoSA) by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The funding for the national initiative will enable the Arkansas History Commission (the State Archives) to provide critical training and services to state and local government agencies throughout Arkansas.
